Services

Here at Clayton Park Veterinary Hospital We provide a wide variety of services to help care for your pet.  Click on some of the following services to view a detailed description.

Behavioural Medicine

Distress doesn't always have a physical cause. Our Veterinarians and staff are knowledgeable in diagnosing and treating various disorders such as separation anxiety and obsessive behaviors.

Dental Care

Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe inhalent anaesthetics and monitoring devices during all dental procedures. Dental technicians clean teeth with an ultrasonic scaler, and polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity, and are recomended in young animals, paticularly at the time of neutering.

Pharmacy

We stock a wide range of veterinary drugs used in the animal healthcare field. We have the ability to compound commonly used medications into easily administered flavoured liquids, on site.

Hospice/Euthanasia

Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. We employ Metro Pet Crematory to help care for your pets remains.  Cremations, common/private burials available.

House Calls

Pain Management

Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care.

Radiology

Radiology or X-rays help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. Radiology is available on site.

Surgery

We offer advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing. Our veterinary surgeons are able to perform various soft tissue ocular and orthopedic surgical procedures.

Ultrasound

This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available.

Diagnostic Blood work

An essential part of veterinary ( or human ) diagnosis is running comprehensive blood work.  On site automated blood testing is essential to a rapid and accurate diagnosis.  Running comprehensive blood tests is an integral part of good veterinary medicine, principal uses include:
-  Screening for metabolic disorders
-  Pre surgery work up, to ensure the safety of the patient under anesthesia
-  Geriatric small animal medicine requires yearly blood tests to monitor kidney, liver, thyroid, and blood glucose levels.
-  Many medications cannot be safely dispensed unless specific blood tests have been run.

We have five fully automated and computerized on site machines:
CBC Analyzer, Blood Chemistry Analyzer, Thyroid Analyzer, Cortisol Analyzer and Electrolyte Analyzer.

Other essential blood chemistry screens also include tests for diabetes and other diseases.

Boarding

Pets are like our children we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. The highly qualified kennel attendants at our sister facility, Harbour Cities Veterinary Hospital, do the same when you can't be there. We provide loving care, and supervised outdoor playtime to keep them happy and active.
